Dear Andrea Csilla,
In just a few days, I’ll be heading to Nepal for two weeks. I’ll be far from civilization, computers, and Wi-Fi. Yet, during those two weeks, you’ll still receive my newsletters like clockwork. How? Automation.
Automation is one of the most powerful tools for staying productive, especially when you’re away or need to focus on high-value tasks. My newsletter-sending system will handle the work for me while I’m trekking at lower altitudes in the Himalayas, up to 3,300 meters above sea level—far from civilization and computers.
But automation isn’t just for newsletters—it can transform how you manage repetitive tasks in your daily life and work.
Why Automation Matters:
1️⃣ Saves Time: Automating repetitive tasks frees up hours every week for more meaningful work. 2️⃣ Reduces Stress: Knowing that routine tasks are handled gives you peace of mind. 3️⃣ Boosts Consistency: Automated systems ensure things get done on time, every time—whether you’re at your desk or halfway around the world.
How to Start Automating:
-
Plan Ahead: Just like I’ve scheduled these newsletters in advance, plan tasks that can be done ahead of time and set them up for automation.
-
Identify Repetitive Tasks: Anything you do more than twice might be worth automating—emails, social media posts, invoicing, or even reminders for recurring meetings.
-
Use Tools: Explore tools like email schedulers (e.g., Mailchimp), task managers (e.g., Asana or Trello), or workflow automation platforms (e.g., Zapier).
Why My Nepal Trip Ties Into This:
Remember that uphill walk I mentioned in a previous newsletter? It’s been part of my preparation for this trip! Trekking in Nepal requires stamina and focus—just like managing a busy schedule does. By automating as much as possible before I leave, I can fully immerse myself in the experience without worrying about unfinished tasks back home.
Your Action Step: Take a moment today to identify one repetitive task in your life that could be automated. Then explore tools or systems to make it happen!
